Tangent: Pop Culture Magazine

For my senior thesis project at Marist, I created and designed a pop culture magazine. This project started as me listing a bunch of random topics within the realm of pop culture that I thought were interesting, and ended up as a creative collaboration between myself and my amazing friends who volunteered to write pieces for me. Before this project, I had never had any experience with editorial design but had always had an interest in both the content and design of publications like The Face, i-D Magazine, Paper Magazine, and Nylon. I wanted to combine my interest in niche pop culture topics and my passion for design and typography, creating a magazine that used experimental and non-traditional typography to convey the humor and uniqueness of the period in which we are experiencing culturally.
